Popular cigar-maker AJ Fernandez adds to his New World portfolio with Dorado, a Nicaraguan Puro drawn from a special blend of AJ’s favorite tobaccos. Dorado is Spanish for “gold,” and the cigar is named for one of AJ’s Nicaraguan estates where the soil is an uncharacteristically light-brown, golden color. A Cuban-seed wrapper and a Criollo ’98 binder from the Dorado farm are blended with additional long-fillers from Condega and Estelí. A tangy, medium-bodied zest layers the palate with a hint of sweetness from the wrapper. Succulent notes of white pepper, cedar, and cinnamon mingle before a hearty, nutty finish rounds out the foundation of another gem from AJ Fernandez.
